About Virginia

Virginia Wagner was born in Berkeley, California, and grew up in Connecticut. She studied received a BFA from Oberlin College and is currently working towards an MFA at MICA Hoffberger School of Painting in Maryland.

Her most recent series, Outpost, was inspired by travels around Iceland and research about its folklore. The sketches catalogue the places—temperatures, colors and textures—that she encountered in Iceland, while the paintings begin to construct a longer narrative, she explains.

Blending reality and myth, Wagner aims to achieve not scientific but emotional truth with her work. Metaphor is of the utmost important in a culture dominated by fast fact sharing and faith in the scientific method, she says.

Her work has been exhibited across the United States.

These beautiful paintings that this artist has created show alot of meaning blending reality and myth together. She uses very like colors in her paintings. She shows alot of emotions in her paintings, very beautiful textures in her work. I love these paintings!!!!!! And I Quote…. ” Everyone has a talent for something, its if you put your all into it.”

Makes you think about people who 'live in glass houses'.
