I view painting as craftsmanship, so I must look to the masters for guidance. I want my work to show characteristics of human nature that are enduring; that which is the most raw and transcendent. The paintings are narratives of war and conflict, new life, death, beauty, kinship, human interaction with the wilderness and the unexplainable, and the rituals we have created around those experiences.
