John McGuire Olsen was born in 1981 and received a BFA from University of California Santa Cruz in 2003.
His hyper-realistic paintings are done in oil on canvas. Perfect Information is a series of portraits depicting people overlaid with digital-looking imagery. His previous series include M.L.S.W.R.M.F.O.B. and Occupied.
Olsen’s work has been exhibited in New York, Miami, and Santa Cruz. In 2003 he received a William Hyde and Susan Benteen Irwin Scholarship and in 2011 an ARC Grant from the Center for Cultural Innovation.
He currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
