Kimberly Brooks studied fine art at Otis and UCLA.
Her paintings blend figuration and abstraction. Her series “Mom’s Friends” and “Technicolor Summer” deal with personal subject matter, whereas her more recent series, “The Stylist Project” and “Thread”, explore fashion as a language in portraiture.
Her work has been featured in juried exhibitions including curators from Whitney Museum of American Art, Museum of Modern Art, California Institute of the Arts and LACMA. Her work has been collected and featured in publications internationally.
She maintains a studio in Venice, California.
