About Robert

I’m drawn by the energetic use of color. I rely on the tension between the spontaneous and the considered, the accidental and the consciously executed. I hide very little. My methods are evident as I cover and uncover, delineate and sweep over the shapes on the canvas.

Defining my work is restrictive and limiting to a fluid evolutional process. I am influenced by the world around me, ranging from other artists to philosophical ideas to the mundane. I don’t know all the motives that draw me to a subject or process. They are both simple and complex, and I prefer to leave them a mystery. It is to this end, that I am drawn to work that constantly shifts and challenges my perception and that ultimately connects with the viewer.

I am new to Robert Langford's work, but from what I've seen, I love it! Of these two paintings on this page, the lower one makes me feel as thought I am bubbling up out of the sea into the sun... very light and whimsical. The top one is bold and energetic... I feel like I can do anything! I like when paintings touch my soul and these have. Can't wait to see more of his work.

i don't know why, but this is my favorite kind of artwork, for interior walls. all the colors of the outdoors, plus simple shapes like those that occur naturally in nature. awsome. art like this will one day replace
'moving pictures" of all types, i hope. honest, simple and nice. thanx

reflections, brightness, cheerful are a few words that come forth. Wonderful use of shapes & space. Very fun!

I love these paintings, especially the first one. It makes me feel playful and as if I'm looking at the world upside-down. Fun!

The bottom one, I'm kind of excited of what the picture will be when the pixels all join together.
