About Brian

I decided to use traditional oil on canvas as my medium. the edge of the canvas becomes the threshold. to articulate the space in a 2-dimensional medium i needed an image. the human form is the ideal choice because the boundaries of the human body are universally understood. i selected a classical iconic male model to ensure that the content is not mistaken for editorial social commentary. in the end, what i have created with rectangles are completely contained works of art with no lines, background, color fields or image to extend beyond the threshold of the space.

I mean seriously, how can you not like this peice. The male form is beautiful, and everyone can relate to the meaning. Its nice to view art without having to look too deeply in its meaning.

Lovely...nothing more beautiful than the human body. Your idea of the rectangle is inspiring....

I like this, it's a very interesting yet easy to understand concept. The pictures are both surreal and convincing and as much as I do enjoy the female nude ;) I think that the use of male models was an excellent choice for this series. Good job

The lines of limbs create angles that push perspective.
