About David

David Choe was born 1976, in Los Angeles. Today, he is currently homeless, wandering the Earth, making good and bad music. His favorite places are Vietnam, Israel, NYC, and the Bay Area. Even though he dropped out of art school, he still gets asked to speak at universities all the time. He works in all mediums. He can paint, anything and everything, as well as on anything and everything. He has won lots of awards and his work can be found in almost every facet of society, from comics, murals, toys, prints, movies, music, magazines, books, t-shirts, commercials, posters, shoes, fine art, live demos etc. He says he wants to retire early, illustrate the entire bible and paint the entire Great Wall of China. But who knows anything with this guy.

Truly magnificant work. I prefer the bottom painting because it is more optomistic in my terms. very intresting.... :)

In response to Roger Sadler,

Communication in any form increases communication.
Novelty IS transient.
We live in one world and in fact, are ONE.
You must find truth for yourself, seek beauty, and then the means to express what you find and attempt to communicate it. Meditation might be valuable for you.

You seem to have captured the essence of the 1990's at least for me!

There's a great interview of Choe on Dithers(a street artist documentary) I highly suggest this DVD to anyone who digs this type of art.

I love the attitude that he conveys with some of his work on his site.

Obfuscation does not increase communication.
Being uninhibited does not increase communication.
Novelty is transient.
We live in different worlds with nothing in common.
How can we communicate and find beauty and truth?
