My principal inspiration comes from the human face. This has a great tradition in art history, and i find it to be a source for deep reflection and endless re-working and discovery. I think it is also something that most people can identify with and take their own meanings and value from. In my photo-montage work i take great joy in turning a perhaps clichéd image into a humorous or juxtaposed new reality, or exploding the image into a metaphysical new dimension. My art about self expression, and also in the pleasure of watching my own catalog of work grow and develop.
"Lola Dupré's work explodes into shards of shrapnel just the same is it melts into liquified misshapen goo. Her collages as stylistically unique and expertly executed. Dupré proves that collage as a medium is as important in contemporary fine art as oil on linen."
