Mathieu Laca was born in 1982 in Laval, Quebec, Canada. When he was 17 years old, a first series of his works was exhibited in a professional venue, namely the Maison des Arts de Laval. In 2002, he received the Conseil de la culture Prize from the city of Laval and was selected by Marc Séguin to take part in the collective show Montreal Generation, featuring the best of young Montreal painters. Mathieu graduated in Fine Arts at Concordia University in 2005. He has exhibited his work in solo at L’Espace contemporain Gallery in Quebec city (2010), Patrick John Mills Gallery in Ottawa (2011) and Modulum Gallery in Montreal (2012 and 2013). His works feature in public and private collections in Canada, the United States, Germany, Norway and Israel.
