Kate Tucker is a Melbourne based artist. Working mostly with painting and mixed media installation, her multi-disciplinary practice is concerned with perception through processes of ordering. Since graduating Kate has had a number of successful solo exhibitions in Australia including at c3 Contemporary Art Space, Platform Public Art Space, Edwina Corlette Gallery, Helen Gory Galerie and internationally at Art Stage Singapore. Kate’s work has been curated into several group exhibitions including at Bus Projects, c3 Contemporary Art Space, The Design Files Open House, True Self at Melbourne’s GPO, and Linden Centre for Contemporary Arts. Kate was a finalist in the Churchie Emerging Art Prize, 2012, and the Archibald Prize, 2012, for her portrait of singer Missy Higgins. She also created the artwork for Missy Higgins third album.
