My work represents a continuous mystery that I feel as an artist. I find that there are some images that haunt me. The nature of my mind’s obsession with a particular image is not clear to me”¦it is just something that happens without my regard. I feel a need to present an image or idea in a way that I hope will somehow shed light on the deeper meaning or emotion that I sense within. I often repeat this attempt, in different ways because I feel that truth is perceived in fragments, and from different angles of vision. This idea is at the heart of my obsession. The attempt not to control the observers experience, but to peel away layers of interpretation, drawing out the subtle richness of a moment, image, or idea.
It is my aim to make art that is meaningful, provocative and emotional, while revealing the extraordinary within the ordinary.
