Bob was born and raised in New York City, where he attended The School of Visual Arts. After finishing his undergraduate degree he completed his masters in Expressive Therapies at Lesley College in Cambridge Massachusetts. During that time he was an emerging Boston artist with two solo and several group exhibits of very large paintings evoking ancient walls worn by time and exposing past histories. In 1988 Bob moved to Colorado and began a new direction in his art.
Bob explains his work by saying, “My current work explores a visual narrative about the world I live in and see each day around me. The images are an assemblage of different photos from my personal archive. Compositing the photographs are a way of reconciling the disquiet and calmness of the uncertainty in our current culture. The photos record the world of appearances seen through the veil of perceptive conjecture and constructs of the imagination.”
