About Brenden

Brenden earned a BA in American Studies from Stetson University and an MFA in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Brenden describes his work “The Invisible landscape” by saying, “The Invisible Landscape is an installation of photographs that develops the intrinsic characteristics of photography to expose our innate responses to the silhouetted human figure. By silhouetting this form through careful use of the camera, I afford a universal recognition no longer reliant upon personal or cultural identifiers. This trait has been a jewel of continuity in photographs since the inception of the medium. In viewing photographic images we ride a wave of constant distraction, constantly reminded of the past or induced to fantasize about the future. However, The Invisible Landscape, like the minimal and anonymous shadows it depicts, implores the viewer to be in the here and now with photographs by placing tension amid ideas of what was, is, and could be.”
