Pinpin Co is a Chinese artist raised in Japan. Before developing her body ink project she studied architecture, receiving a BFA from Waseda University in 2006 and an MFA from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2010.
Co uses a simple gel ink pen to turn the faces of her subjects into temporary works of art that are then washed away in a few seconds. She calls her work a therapeutic process, capturing the physical and mental scars of her subjects.
Her work has won several awards and been exhibited in Tokyo.
