Patty Maher is a self-taught photographer who became a photographer just a few years ago.
She regards photography as a means to take random or disconnected pieces of the world and frame them in a way that gives them new meaning, to constantly re-envision the world in new ways and to consider what the imagination has not yet described. The resulting photos are open-ended collaboration with the viewer.
Her self-portraiture tells stories that explore the boundaries between the countryside outside Toronto and the otherworldly, surreal and fantastical. Her photos have been published in Enquire Magazine and Rebel Imprint, among others.
