Stephen Shaheen worked and trained extensively in Italy and earned his MFA from New York Academy of Art in 2005.
His awards include a Ludwig Volgestein grant, an Italian Cultural Institute/La Fortuna Foundation Fellowship, and a 2009-2010 Residency at the Digital Stone Project. Shaheen’s indoor and outdoor installations are in public and private collections in Europe and the United States.
Shaheen currently teaches at Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts and New York Academy of Art. He is also director of Tuscany Study, an intensive art program in Italy.
