About Elizabeth


Elizabeth McDonald was born in Plano, Texas, and is currently enrolled in an MFA program at Glasgow School of Art. Previously she studied at Southern Methodist University in Dallas and University of North Texas.

Her work was included in the BP Portrait Award 2010 Exhibition in the National Portrait Gallery in London, and has previously been exhibited across the United Kingdom and in Texas.

McDonald has also been shortlisted for several awards, including most recently the John Moores 2010 Prize for Contemporary Painting.

These are both really good. Especially the top one, I think it's awesome. She has a very unique quality to her style and its very creative. They kind of make me stop and absorb them for a minute.

Excellent work - she captures the atmosphere of each setting so that you feel as if you are right there observing the scene. Cudos!
