About Amy

Amy Lincoln received an MFA from Temple University, Pennsylvania. Prior to that she studied at Brandeis University and University of California.

Lincoln’s primary influences are Renaissance artists such as Hans Holbein, Jan Van Eyck, and Petrus Christus.

Her still lives and portraits represent observed people and things, but also the ‘timeless, hermetically sealed cave’ of her mind. Windows and mirrors serve as portholes into this space, whereby the subject’s reflection has a life of its own.

Lincoln lives in Brooklyn, New York. Her work has been exhibited across the east coast.

I'm not crazy about the pictures. I do like the color.

'Plants, Portraits and a Distant View' has beautiful colours - absolutely gorgeous. The whole painting has been very skill fully executed, but personally the composition is a little too contrived for my taste.

Reminds me so much of Matisse...love the vivid color contrasted with the more subtle "distant view." TY Amy.

The colors and textures in "Distant View" are engaging. I do feel a need, though, to rearrange the components. Not sure why. But that's just me!

Love the first one.... it reminds me of a cartoon or fantasy world. The second one is very solemn and gives you lots to think about.
